Veteran actress Neetu Kapoor, who is making her with Jug Jugg Jeeyo, remembered her husband late Rishi Kapoor on the occasion of Mera Naam Joker completing 50 years of release. She shared the collage of Rishi Kapoor including his look from the film and wrote, "Mera naam joker released on 18th dec. 1970 .. today would have been his 50 years in the indian film industry #rishikapoor."
Recently, Anupam Kher shared some throwback pictures from his visit to New York with Neetu and Rishi Kapoor and wrote, "Dearest @neetu54!! Meeting you last night in Chandigarh without #RishiJi triggered off so many memories of us together in New York. Our shared tears made the bond of those moments stronger. These pics are a reminder of how #ChintuJi had a larger than life persona. I am so happy that you are working. You have made him the happiest person by doing so. We, your friends are always there for you. Remember "There are some relationships which are like a pause button on a tape recorder. They always start from where you left them!" Love and prayers. #Memories #Pics #ChintuJi @riteishd @geneliad."
The actress had earlier said in an interview, "There always comes a phase in a couple's life when there would be friction, disagreements. Rishi and I also went through that stage. It was just one of those problems, which only the husband and wife would understand. Fortunately, we were able to sort out our differences. Today, everything is forgotten." Talking about Mera Naam Joker, the film was directed and produced by Raj Kapoor and featured Simi Garewal, Kseniya Ryabinkina and Padmini in supporting roles. Actors like Dharmendra, Rajendra Kumar and Manoj Kumar made special appearances in the film. It was one of the expensive films of that time.
