The Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani actress has battled depression before. She had opened up on the same while talking to WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus during an interaction. Deepika Padukone had said, "Mental illness happened to me when I had least expected it. In my case, it came with no warning signs. The general understanding was that I was at a professional high, I had successful consecutive hit movies, I was in an amazing relationship, my family has always been extremely supportive in my life. Everything was absolutely perfect. I remember waking up one morning and I fainted. There was a complete blackout and I hit my head. I used to live alone and luckily the house help had arrived. She saw me lying on the floor and sort of revived me. I gained consciousness, slept through the day, got an appointment with a general practitioner who said it was general exhaustion or blood pressure fluctuation. These were the physical signs."
The actress further elaborated on the other symptoms, saying, "I was also experiencing a hollow, empty feeling in my stomach. I would break into a sweat every now and then. I would have these panic phases where I would just need to get out and gasp for breath. I would just break down and cry."
A lot is happening in the world right now. Help from everywhere is highly appreciated. Several celebrities are doing their bits by sharing verified information to help beat the pandemic. This too shall pass.
