'Power Star' Pawan Kalyan tests positive for COVID-19

Power Star Pawan Kalyan, whose comeback film Vakeel Saab is shattering records at the box office, has been unfortunately tested positive for COVID-19. The actor earlier went under self-isolation, when his staff members contracted the virus and his team shared a statement to announce that even he has been tested positive and is under medication. The statement reads, "After holding a pada yatra and a public rally in Tirupathi on April 3, Pawan Kalyan garu returned to Hyderabad. After a few days, he showed mild symptoms and got tested. The result came back negative. However, as a precautionary measure, he quarantined himself at his farmhouse in Hyderabad. With him developing body pains and fever, he went for another test. This time, the test came back positive."

The statement also adds that a team of doctors from Apollo hospital is looking after him and a doctor from Khammam is looking after him personally. In fact, family members Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan are constantly in touch with these doctors.

Talking about his latest release Vakeel Saab, it is directed by Sriram Venu and also features Shruti Haasan, Prakash Raj, Nivetha Thomas, Anjali, Ananya Nagalla, Mukesh Rishi, Dev Gill, Subbaraju, Vamsi Krishna and Anasuya Bharadwaj in pivotal roles. The music of the film is composed by S Thaman and the cinematography is done by PS Vinod while the editing department is headed by Prawin Pudi. Jointly produced by Dil Raju and Boney Kapoor under Sri Venkateswara Creations and Bay View Projects LLP, the film is the official remake of 2016 film Pink, which featured Amitabh Bachchan along with Taapsee Pannu, Andrea Tariang, Angad Bedi, Tushar Pandey, Piyush Mishra, and Dhritiman Chatterjee in pivotal roles.
