Indian Idol is one of the most-watched Indian singing-based reality TV shows in the country. It has been grabbing best spots in the top 5 of the TRP charts. Lately, a lot of changes took place on Indian Idol 12 as Aditya Narayan contracted COVID-19 due to which he stopped shooting for the show. Jay Bhanushali and eventually, Rithvik Dhanjani stepped into Aditya's shoes as the host. Later on, Pawandeep Rajan was also tested positive for COVID-19. He too has quarantined himself. Later on, the lockdown was announced which resulted in the stoppage of Indian Idol 12's shoot altogether. However, the makers of the singing reality TV show have a couple of episodes in the bank which will air this weekend. But now, Neha Kakkar will be giving the show a miss. Yes, you read that right. No, before you jump the gun, the Taaron Ke Sheher Mein singer is in the pink of her health. She will give this episode a miss as she had some prior commitments to fulfill and wasn't available to shoot for Indian Idol on the said date (April 13).
Meanwhile, in the upcoming episode of Indian Idol 12, we will see veteran actress Jaya Prada gracing the show. The gorgeous actress would mesmerised everyone with her charm and beauty. It would be yet another nostalgic moment for the fans of the show as it is highly likely that the contestants would sing retro numbers featuring Jaya Prada in the upcoming episodes.
Meanwhile, due to the lockdown, the shooting has been stopped. And it is being said that the makers and the channel are planning to re-air the old episodes of Indian Idol till the time lockdown is lifted.
