Anupamaa: Rupali Ganguly tests negative for COVID-19; to resume shoot soon

Anupamaa, the top show of Indian TV was badly hit by the coronavirus. The deadly flu took down the lead pair of Rupali Ganguly-Sudhanshu Pandey and other members of the supporting cast like Alpana Buch, Nidhi Shah, Tassnim Sheikh and producer Rajan Shahi. This made the makers change the script of the show. Now, there is some good news for fans. It seems Rupali Ganguly has tested negative for the virus, and is likely to resume work soon.

A source told The Times Of India, "Yes, the news is true and Rupali is really happy about this latest development. She was eagerly waiting for the test results which came in the evening today. Rupali is now keen to get back to her family and resume work soon. Rupali will start shooting this week. In all probability, Sudhanshu Pandey, the male lead too will join in a few days, along with actor Aashish Mehrotra, who too had tested COVID positive sometime back, is also back on the sets. We are keeping our fingers crossed, hopefully, there will now not be too many changes required in the script."

Rupali Ganguly kept fans entertained by posting pictures and Insta stories. The actress said she was sure of a strong comeback. In the upcoming episodes, we will see Anupama in a new look. This will happen after the divorce of Vanraj and her. The makers are tensed as Nidhi Shah (Kinjal), Alpana Buch (Baa) and Tassnim Sheikh (Rakhi Dave) are still positive for the virus. The new strain of the virus is very contagious. Maharashtra is the worst affected state followed by places like Karnataka and Delhi. The Government has finally allowed the use of the Russian vaccine, Sputnik, which is supposed to be 91 per cent effective against the virus. While Covishield/Covaxine is being given, the demand for Remedisivir has put medicos in a spot.
