Roohi is the first big Bollywood movie hitting cinema halls after the situation has returned to a semblance of normalcy post COVID-19 restrictions, with the best part being that the film will be running at 100% occupancy at several states across the country. Besides this major factor, the trade is abuzz with how well the trailer has been received and there's generally a lot of enthusiasm among the audience to watch this Rajkummar Rao, Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Sharma starrer due to the lasting goodwill generated by Stree back in 2018, and the fact that Roohi belongs to the same horror universe conceived by producer Dinesh Vijan.
So, in the spirit of horror universes as we've seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, does Roohi contain a scene connected with Stree that would tie both films in the same horror universe? BollywoodLife put both Rajkummar Rao and Varun Sharma from the former (Rajkummar was also the leading man of the latter) on the hot seat in a recent exclusive interview, and while they didn't reveal it outright, the response offered by both hinted at the possibility of such a treat bieng in store for moviegoers when Roohi releases on 11th March.
While Rajkummar told us that he can't disclose if such a scene connecting both Stree and Roohi does exist in the Hardik Mehta directorial, Varun Sharma went a step further and added that they can't display all their cards now, and the excitement lies in us waiting and watching as such a treat does lie in wait in Roohi. When we prodded Varun further to not reveal the nature of the scene, but at least come clean about its existence for the sake of the vast fanbase of Stree, both he and Rajkummar Rao sheepishly requested that we need to wait a day and watch the horror-comedy in cinema halls to find out.
Well...we do respect the wishes of these two wonderful actors and even more wonderful gents, but the way in which they replied does offer hope that the makers of Stree and Roohi to have pulled off an MCU, doesn't it?
