The one movie that has been on everyone's lips for over a decade now is Munna Bhai 3, but as reports have come and gone and speculations has swayed on everything from its concept to release date to casting, the one constant has been no concrete word on the Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi starrer. Well, that may change soon because producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra himself has minced no words in a recent interview when he declared that Munna Bhai 3 will definitely get made along with revealing details on why it has been delayed for so long.
Responding to the million-dollar question in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Vidhu Vinod Chopra said, "Yes, absolutely. The day we have a script. We have ideas. Of course we will make it. Why won't we? We are mad, but not that mad. If we get a script we will do it. Our joy comes from creating cinema. Our joy comes from striving for excellence. Honestly, I have not made the third Munna Bhai, which will get me how many crores you can ask industry experts, because I still don't have a script I like, then I must be crazy."
Earlier, Arshahd Warsi who plays the much-loved circuit in the franchise, had exclusively revealed to BollywoodLife that Munna Bhai 3 may not happen at all. "I promise you for Munna Bhai you can just go, stand on the road and shout, 'Munna Bhai, kab aa raha hai,' and you'll get an answer (laughs). I don't think Munna Bhai is going to happen, let me be honest. The chances of Golmaal 5 happening are more than the chances of Munna Bhai 3 happening," he had said.
Well, who's going to be eventually proved right? Arshad or Vidhu time alone will tell.
