Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh make for one of the coolest and the most happening on-screen pairs in the Hindi film industry. Though they have featured in just one film together, their several television and print commercials had left fans gushing and rooting for their pair on the silver screen. And now as per a report in PeepingMoon.com, Alia Bhatt is all set to romance Ranveer Singh again. And Karan Johar would return to the director's chair again with this romance film. Karan has been Alia's mentor but this would be the first time he directing Ranveer Singh. Yes, you read that right.
To brush your memories, Karan Johar's last feature directorial was Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in 2o16 which featured Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Fawad Khan, Lisa Haydon and Imran Abbas Naqvi to name a few. After Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Karan director two short segments, one for Lust Stories in 2018 and another for Ghost Stories in 2020. Karan's return to the director's chair would certainly raise the excitement and Alia-Ranveer's pairing would set the box office on fire just like their outing together. Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt's chemistry in Gully Boy was the talk of the town for months after the release. Alia played Safeena to Ranveer's Murad aka Gully Boy.
Coming to their work front, Ranveer Singh has a list of films in the pipeline. He has an extended-cameo in Rohit Shetty's Sooryavanshi for the release in which he would reprise his role of Simmba. He has Kabir Khan's '83 for release next, a biographical sports drama capturing the essence of the Indian cricket team's historic world cup win at Lords in 1983. He also has Rohit Shetty's Cirkus alongside Jayeshbhai Jordaar. On the other hand, Alia Bhatt has Gangubai Kathiawadi, Brahmastra and RRR up for release.
Also, Karan Johar's much anticipated period drama film, Takht is on hold. The film features an ensemble cast in Ranveer-Alia, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Bhumi Pednekar, Vicky Kaushal, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor to name a few.
