John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan make for the coolest actor duos to have worked together. Their films Dhoom and Dostana are still very popular amongst the masses. And looks like they are all set to collaborate yet again. Yes, you read that right. And this time for an action-thriller, a Hindi remake of the 2020 Malayalam film Ayyapanum Koshiyum. The Malayalam film by late K. R. Sachidanandan aka Sachy. For the unversed, back in March last year, John Abraham is had bought the rights of Ayyapanum Kohsiyum and had said that he would start working on the same once the pandemic gets better. The original film starred Prithviraj Sukumaran and Biju Menon in the lead roles. Now, it remains to be seen whether Abhishek Bachchan would yet again essay the role of a policeman.
"John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan have been trying to collaborate on a film again ever since the release of Dostana. However, nothing really materialized. Ayyappanum Koshiyum is finally a quintessential two hero film that does justice to their persona and gives equal standing to both John and Abhishek. They have started a conversation on the film and the paperwork should be done soon," a source close to the development of the Hindi remake told Pinkvila.
John and Abhishek were supposed to collaborate yet again for Dostana 2 but the project never came through. Now, Dostana 2 is being made with Janhvi Kapoor, Kartik Aryan and Lakshya with a fresh start. Coming back to Ayyapanum Koshiyum, the film was one of the few that released in the theatre before the pandemic forced lockdown hit the country. It was well-received by the audience and the critics too.
On the work front, Abhishek Bachchan was last seen in Ludo. He will be next seen in The Big Bull, a crime film by Kookie Gulati. He also has Bob Biswas, a spin-off on a character from Sujoy Ghosh's Kahaani. John Abraham, on the other hand, has Mumbai Saga, Satyameva Jayate, Attack and Pathan to name a few.
