While the fans of Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Saif Ali Khan might be waiting for the announcement of Sacred Games 3, the Gangs of Wasseypur actor has shared a disappointing news that there will be no season 3 of Sacred Games. Talking to SpotBoye, Nawaz said, "Sacred Games got the kind of worldwide acclaim that none of us associated with the series had seen before. I remember shooting in Rome for Tannishta Chatterjee's film and over there too there were so many people talking to me about Sacred Games. So we all felt it was right to do it again, and we did a second season."
The versatile actor admitted that the second part was not up to the mark and asserted, "Perhaps somewhere the intention behind Season 2 was not as sincere as the first time. I admit Sacred Games 2 was a disappointment." He added, "Whatever had to be said from the original novel has already been said. There is nothing left in Vikram Chandra's novel to be put in Season 3."
While Nawazuddin Siddiqui's dialogues from the series became quite popular, the actor said that the credit for that goes to the writers. "But I can't take credit for the popularity of the lines that I spoke. I didn't write them. In India, we often give credit to the actor for a popular line. In Yash Chopra Saab's Deewaar, Shashi Kapoor Saab spoke the line, 'Mere Paas Maa Hai'. But it was Salim-Javed who wrote that line. So the credit must go to them," he said.
Apart from the lead cast, the series also featured Radhika Apte, Girish Kulkarni, Neeraj Kabi, Jeetendra Joshi, Rajshri Deshpande, Karan Wahi, Sukhmani Sadana, Aamir Bashir, Jatin Sarna, Elnaaz Norouzi, Pankaj Tripathi, Amey Wagh, Kubbra Sait, Surveen Chawla, Kalki Koechlin, Ranvir Shorey and Amruta Subhash in pivotal roles.
