Master: Thalapathy Vijay's film already a blockbuster in the Telugu states; recovers costs in flat two days

Pongal has seen the release of Thalapathy Vijay's Master. The movie has got a fantastic response from the audience. Originally, Master was supposed to release in April 9, 2020 but the pandemic pushed the film. The makers held on to it, and made sure it got a theatrical release. Master sees a face-off between Thalapathy Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi. On the opening day, it has made a collection of over Rs 40 crore worldwide. In Tamil Nadu, it made more than Rs 23 crores. Now, news is coming that buyers have almost recovered their costs on day two in the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh belt.

Yesterday, it was reported that it has made above Rs 23 crore in Tamil Nadu. In states of Karnataka and Kerala, it is close to Rs three crore. In the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh belt, it has pocketed approximately Rs 4.5 crore, while in rest of India it is around Rs 1.5 crore. The overseas collections stand at around four crore plus. Thalapathy Vijay had requested the CM to make full occupancy possible for the film. Even Simbu requested for the same. The fans have received the film with warmth.

Filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj wrote on Twitter, "Dear all it's been a 1.5-year-long struggle to bring Master to u. All we have is hope that you'll enjoy it in theatres. If u come across leaked clips from the movie, please don't share it. Thank u all. Love u all. One more day and #Master is all yours. (sic)." In the mean time, a case has been filed against producer Xavier Britto. The movie also stars Malavika Mohanan, Andrea Jeremiah and Arjun Das. Keerthy Suresh was one of the first celebs to watch the film.
