It's been 13 years since megastar Chiranjeevi's son, Ram Charan made his acting debut. Now, for the first time, he will be seen sharing screen space with his dad Chiranjeevi in his next film, Acharya.
While Chiranjeevi did appear in cameos in a couple of Ram Charan's films and Ram Charan turned producer for his father's recent films, this will be the first time they will be starring together.
Ram said, "It will be an absolute honour for me to be able to share the same frame as my father. Also, it is not a cameo but a full-fledged role for me. I want to thank director Koratala Siva for making this happen."
Director Koratala Siva added, "I couldn't have imagined anyone else playing Sidha in Acharya. This is perfect casting for the role and the project."
The teaser of Acharya will be out tomorrow (January 29). It is slated for a pan India release in Summer 2021.
In a past interview to Cinema Express, Chiranjeevi actor spoke about his learnings. He had said, "Initially, I was too attached to the success or failure of a film. It took me 20 years to realise that I hold accountability for neither. I still remember one incident that happened after the release of Kodama Simham (1990) and Pratibandh (1990). Friends from the industry visited to see how I was celebrating the stupendous success of both films, but they were shocked to see me dressed in a lungi, reading a book. I behaved simply like the mother of a newborn. Each film is like a baby, but I have learned to balance my emotions. Today, after years, I am immune to success and failure."
On being asked if he would like to see his biopic getting made, he had said, "My journey has given hope to many an actor. Every aspiring actor wants to be a Chiranjeevi, and I'm heartwarmed by that. I am working on my autobiography and planning to bring out a documentary with personal anecdotes. As for a biopic, I am not sure my life has enough twists to make it interesting."
