After wrapping up his portions in Ajay Devgn starrer Bhuj: The Pride Of India, Sanjay Dutt jumped to KGF 2, where he is playing the lead antagonist Adheera and currently shooting for an epic climax, where he will have a face-off with Yash aka Rocky Bhai. Since the actor recently recovered from the cancer, the makers of the highly anticipated pan-India project, told him to use a body double for action scenes but Dutt insisted to perform it himself, which was done under the supervision of national award winning director duo Anbu-Arivu.
A source close to the development told Mumbai Mirror, "The entire climax of the film is being shot on a large scale with plenty of action centered around a coal mine. Since Sanjay has just recovered from cancer, the producers had suggested that they get a body double for some of the scenes. But Sanjay insisted on doing all the stunts himself." The source added, "The team has upped the scale of action as compared to the original and it's one of the USPs of the sequel."

Raveena Tandon, who plays the character of a politician in the film, recently revealed details about her character and said, "I am playing a politician, a strong character. She is the hero as well as the villain of the film, with a very interesting story arc." The Hindi version of the film is presented by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani's Excel Entertainment. In a recent statement, Rocky Bhai aka Yash said, "KGF 2 is going to be massive. If you've seen KGF 1, you'll have an idea of what kind of movie it is KGF 2 will be five-folds of KGF 1!" While the film was scheduled to release this year, it got delayed due to the pandemic crisis of COVID-19. Reportedly the second part of KGF will hit the screens during summer 2021.
