For those who have been on a detox, a lot has happened in the last few weeks. On Monday, 7 December 2020, Divya Bhatnagar who had been batting COVID-19 passed away in the hospital. It is after Divya Bhatnagar breathed her last that the gruesome details of her wedding with Gagan Gabru also known as Gagan Sethi. Divya Bhatnagar had married Gagan Gabru/ Gagan Sethi last year against the wishes of her family members and friends. For the time being, Divya Bhatnagar pretended to have a happy wedding but cracks started showing up only days after her wedding. Divya Bhatnagar hid the details of her abusive marriage for a long time in hopes of the guy mending and changing his ways.
When Divya Bhatnagar was hospitalised, her mother had revealed that Gagan Gabru/ Gagan Sethi was a fraudulent man and that he had abandoned her daughter days after her wedding. Her friends who now have an idea upon hearing it from Divya Bhatnagar's mouth herself, are shocked to the core but are fighting for her, trying to get her justice and put the man behind the bars. Devoleena Bhattacharjee is actively supporting Divya Bhatnagar's family who is trying to get justice for their daughter/ sister. Devoleena Bhattacharjee went live yesterday and spoke at length about domestic violence and how people should stand up against it. She also shared videos of her friends who were friends with Divya Bhatnagar, who knew about her terrifying ordeal.
Akanksha Malhotra, one of Divya Bhatnagar's close friends revealed that though she had married against the wishes of her family a despite facing the mental and physical abuse at the hands of Gagan Gabru, she hoped he would return and apologise for all that he has done to her. She revealed that she had been talking to Divya for the last six to seven months now and even revealed that Divya had been intent on filing an NC against Gagan Gabru but still wished he would change. Nidhi Uttam, who worked with Divya Bhatnagar in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and who had been in touch with the actress since 2009 revealed that for the last three to four years, their contact and their interactions had lessened. She revealed that Gagan Gabru/ Gagan Sethi did not like Divya Bhatnagar being in touch with her real friends and well-wishers and kept them at bay from her. Nidhi Uttam revealed that Divya stayed quiet because she wanted to prove that she chose the right man. She added that Divya was very naive and would easily trust anybody easily which is where she went wrong. Check out her video below:
