Ajay Devgn

Ajay Devgn, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, Raid

National Award-winning superstar Ajay Devgn made his directorial debut with U Me Aur Hum in 2008, followed by Shivaay in 2016. The Tanhaji actor will start his next directorial project, titled Mayday, this month in Hyderabad, which also features Amitabh Bachchan, Rakul Preet Singh and Angira Dhar in pivotal roles. Ajay Devgn will portray the character of a pilot in the film.

Aamir Khan

Most loved Bollywood celebs on social media, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Aamir Khan, Varun Dhawan, Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Hrithik Roshan, Ajay Devgn, Ayushmann Khurrana,

Bollywood's Mr. Perfectionist made his directorial debut with 2007's Taare Zameen Par. The critical and commercial venture also featured Darsheel Safary, Vipin Sharma and Tisca Chopra in key roles. The film went on to win several accolades including the Filmfare Best award for Best Film and Best Director for Aamir Khan.

Sunny Deol

Macho man Sunny Deol wore the director's hat for the first time in 1999's Dillagi, which also featured Bobby Deol and Urmila Matondkar. While his direction was appreciated, the film tanked at the box office. The Border actor later helmed Ghayal: Once Again and Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas, which was the Bollywood debut of his son, Karan Deol.

Pankaj Kapur

The veteran actor made his directorial debut with Mausam, which starred son Shahid Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor in lead roles. The romantic drama was a commercial failure at the box office.

Ashutosh Gowariker

After playing supporting and small roles in Holi, Naam, Chamatkar and Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, Ashutosh Gowariker made his directorial debut with Deepak Tijori starrer Pehla Nasha in 1993. He later went on to helm masterpieces like Lagaan, Swades and Jodha Akbar.
