Singer and actor Aditya Narayan recently tied the knot with longtime girlfriend Shweta Agarwal, which turned out to be a star-studded affair. Speaking about his son's wedding, father Udit Narayan told Bollywood Hungama, "I have just one son. I wanted his marriage to be much more lavish. But the Covid has taken the joy away from all celebrations. In fact I wanted my son to wait until this pandemic was over before getting married. But Shweta's family and Aditya were keen that they get married now. My son and Shweta were in a live-in relationship for 10 years. I guess it was time for them to make it official."
He added, "Modiji wrote me a letter after I invited him for the wedding. So did Bachchan Saab and Ambaniji. The Defence minister Rajnathji called me to wish us for the wedding. We are fortunate to have the blessings of everyone." In an exclusive conversation with BollywoodLife, when Aditya was earlier asked about how industry has taken him for granted and said, "Of course, I have started getting work after 25 long years. Last year, AR Rahman had called me for a recording after 20 long years. This year, I have sung songs for Vishal-Shekhar. I have known them since I was 18. I used to host Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and they used to judge the show. And still they didn't give me any work at that time. After Ram-Leela, I met music directors like Pritam da, Vishal-Shekhar and Shankar Ehsaan Loy, everyone, but still I didn't get any work. If this is not struggle, then what is it? At the age of 32, I have started getting hits to my name. But even after giving two big hits in Ram-Leela, nobody gave me work for 6 years thereafter."
"Even after being signed for a big music label, my originals were not getting approved at all. When I used to sing for a record label, all my scratches used to get dubbed by their artists and they became hits. I began wondering whether I can sing or is it just a figment of my imagination that I can sing well. I questioned myself, my singing skills, my capabilities and my work. Though I became popular on TV but when it comes to making a name in the music industry, I still feel there's a long road ahead of me. This is just a small motivation to keep me going. I have faced many rejections in my career, be it films or songs. In fact, my papa has also struggled a lot in his career. Everyone has their own set of struggles."
