Prabhas and Saif Ali Khan starrer Adipurush is currently the most awaited film. The film will release on 11th August 2022. Prabhas will play Lord Rama and Saif Ali Khan portray the character of lead antagonist Lankesh. It was earlier reported that Ajay Devgn will play Lord Shiva in the film. For the unversed, Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan will be collaborating with director Om Raut again after Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, which turned out to be a blockbuster at the box office. Now, there is another update about this mega-budget pan-India venture. As per reports in the Times Of India, Sonu Ke Titu ki Sweety actor Sunny Singh is approached for the role of Laxman in Adipurush. This will be a completely different project for Sunny Singh and fans will get to see him in a different look.
A source close to the production said, "Sunny Singh has been approached to essay the character of Laxman, brother to Prabhas for 'AdiPurush' which also marks one of the most prominent roles in the film. If all goes well, one can expect Sunny Singh in a completely different avatar and character on-screen. Sharing screen space with Prabhas is going to be a brilliant opportunity worth grabbing for Sunny." However, nothing has been confirmed yet and it surely would be interesting to watch this stellar cast. Yesterday, it was reported that Kriti Sanon has been approached for the role of Sita in the movie.
A source close to Mumbai Mirror revealed, "After considering several top names, from both the Hindi and Telugu industries, they decided on Kriti. She will play the character with grace and dignity. It will mostly be shot in the studio against a chroma screen. Om and Bhushan have been talking to VFX technicians of international repute, who have worked on films like Avatar and Star Wars, to make the shooting process smooth and mount the film on a certain scale. Playing Sita is an opportunity of a lifetime for her, and she immediately came on board. She will be juggling multiple films in the first quarter of 2021."
