Jiah Khan Death Anniversary: When Ram Gopal Varma revealed how the disappointments and frustrations of being in films changed the Nishabd actress

Today marks 8 years since Jian Khan passed away (June 3). Her untimely demise sent shockwaves in the industry. Ram Gopal Varma, who launched her in his 2007 film, Nishabd opposite Amitabh Bachchan, had opened up about the actress in his book, Guns and Thighs.

He wrote that when he first met her, he thought "she was the most innocently sexy girl" he had ever seen. Many had high hopes from the actress as she had shown a lot of potential in her debut film itself. However, her career didn't last long. The filmmaker further wrote, "When I heard of her suicide, I cried uncontrollably though I was never really close to her. She was one of the few people who couldn't cope with the disappointments and frustrations the film industry is replete with."

The filmmaker had also made a huge revelation on Twitter. He had said that the actress was jobless despite starring in successful films. "In spite of being highly appreciated in Nishabd and being a part of hugely successful Ghajini and Housefull, she had no work for the last three years. I don't know the reason what led to this, but Jiah was very depressed about her career and scared for her future."

His tweet also read, "The last time I met her, Jiah told me that everyone around her makes her feel like a failure. So young and so pretty. Just can't believe that someone as young and so full of life is just dead. No matter what her problem was, I just so wish she applied her on-screen philosophy of Nishabd to her own life which is to Take Lite."

Well, Jiah will surely be remembered for the impressive work that she did in her short career. A life definitely gone too soon.
