Bigg Boss 13 will go down as the best season in the history of the reality show. The masala quotient dished out by the contestants made the other seasons look bland. This has perhaps put immense pressure on the current lot to deliver. While the big names are certain of a vote bank, the struggle is in the middle ranks. And when there is a sense of desperation, some untoward incidents might happen.
In an emotional outburst, Pavitra Punia lashed out at Rahul Vaidya for telling people that she has a crush on Abhinav Shukla. She felt it was like a slur on her character for someone to speak of her apparent attraction for a married man. Pavitra Punia started screaming and crying getting the attention of the whole house. The funny thing is Pavitra Punia had rather publicly said that she likes Abhinav and would like to go on a date with him. Rubina Dilaik, Abhinav's wife who is in the house, gave her blessings for the dream date.
We have seen sexism in Bigg Boss seasons, but this was surely over-reaction on part of Pavitra Punia. And what is so wrong about crushing on a married man? We can list out at least 50 married men from Bollywood, TV and South Indian industry who make women go weak at their knees. And we would love to date them irrespective of their relationship status in the present, past or future. What has crushing on someone got to do with slur on character and misogyny. It is even more surprising that something like this came from Pavitra Punia who claims that she is a kadak player.
While we do not blame Pavitra Punia wholly given that the new lot is struggling for muddas other than chopping and rolling out rotis, there is something called creativity. Sorry Pavitra, you just lowered your own standards of gamesmanship with this!
