Ajay Devgn's father, the late Veeru Devgan, was one of the biggest action directors in Bollywood. Apart from directing stunts and action sequences, he also directed a Bollywood film called Hindustan Ki Kasam, featuring his sonz Ajay Devgn, along with Amitabh Bachchan. The Tanhaji actor has always called his father a mentor and an inspiration, and true to that we've now stumbled upon an old video of the superstar talking about his father on Zee TV's show Yaaraon Ki Baaraat.
In the viral video, we see Ajay Devgn's Himmatwala (2013) director Sajid Khan narrating an incident, where the superstar was on the verge of getting beaten up by a crowd, but his father, Veeru Devgan, came to his rescue. "Ajay had one white jeep in which we used to roam around. One day, when Ajay was driving through a narrow lane near Holiday Hotel, a kid, who was running after a kite, came in front of the jeep. Ajay pulled the brakes immediately, the jeep didn't hit the kid, but he started crying as he got scared. Some 1000 people gathered around our jeep after that. We tried explaining them that it was not Ajay's fault and the kid is also fine. But the people started saying, 'Get out, get out, you rich people drive very fast.' Fir samajh nahi aaya public sab tap tap tapli padne lage. In 10 minutes, the news reached Ajay's dad, Veeru Devgan, and he brought 150-250 fighters to the spot. It was like a Hindi film scene."
That's another major tribute for #VeeruDevgn ji @ajaydevgn

Earlier, in another interview, Ajay Devgn had called Veeru Devgan the "true Singham" and said, "The Singham in my life can only be my father. Because he is a man who came to Bombay at that point in time with 4 rupees in his pocket, wanting to become something, struggled, washed and lived in taxis so he could stay here, did not eat food for eight days at times, worked so hard, became a street fighter from there till Mr. Ravi Khanna saw him one day asking him whether he would become a fight director. From there, his growth from nowhere to becoming India's topmost action director is remarkable," he had said.
He added, "I have seen him getting so much respect that some of the biggest actors would touch his feet, wanting to work with him. By the time I was born, he had enough money. As a kid and being an action director's son, I still had the same lifestyle I have today, including owning a Mercedes. He has 50 stitches in his head and has broken every bone in his body. So no one else can be my Singham."
