Kajal Aggarwal shares insight into her 'Punjabi meets Kashmiri' wedding with Gautam Kitchlu as she turns from 'Ms to Mrs' — view posts

It was D-day for Kajal Aggarwal and Gautam Kitchlu on October 30 as they tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony in Mumbai. A private wedding had been planned due to the on-going coronavirus pandemic that is still at large. Despite the plague that has caught the world the lovers have united in the matrimony. It was indeed a lavish affair and we bet with proper precautions. Kajal is now Mrs Kajal Gautam Kitchlu. She shared beautiful posts last night and we cannot stop gushing over the two of them. In the first post, Kajal expressed her happiness on turning from Ms to Mrs. "And just like that, from ms to mrs! I married my confidante, companion, best friend and soulmate. So glad I found all of this and my home in you @kitchlug #kajgautkitched," the Singham actress wrote. The picture post for the same saw Kajal kissing Gautam's hand as he lovingly looked on. In her next post, Kajal revealed that they conducted the Jeelakarra Bellam ritual as a special tribute to their connection to South India. She explained the meaning and the purpose behind the ritual saying, "In our, Punjabi meets Kashmiri wedding, we just had to include #Jeelakarrabellam - a tribute to both Gautam and my individual relationships with South India! In a Telugu wedding, Jeelakarra Bellam signifies the union/marriage of the bride and the groom. Jeelakarra (cumin) and bellam (jaggery) are made into a thick paste and put on a tamalapaku (betel leaf). The bride and the groom put it on each other's head while the purohit chants mantras from the Vedas. The bride and the groom look at each other only after this ceremony is completed and this auspicious ceremony signifies that the couple will stay together in bitter and sweet times." Last but not the least, Kajal opened up on her gala wedding affair. She revealed how everything was planned meticulously and with proper precaution. "Planning a wedding entails so many moving parts and added to that the pandemic definitely was a challenge. However we strictly followed covid protocols which meant we had to have a very small wedding, got all our guests tested and created a bubble for everyone who was a part of our celebration. We are very grateful for all our loved ones that were able to attend and those who joined virtually from afar were terribly missed and we hope to see you all soon."
