Allu Arjun took to Twitter and praised Telugu film, Palasa 1978. Directed by Karuna Kumar, the film released in theatres a few weeks before the lockdown started. The actor also shared a picture of himself with the director. He wrote, "Congratulations to the entire team of Palasa 1978. Watched it and met the director the very next morning. Wonderful attempt with a great underlying message. It had so many good moments . I personally liked it."
He added, "Soo glad such good directors and actors are coming up in new age Telugu films. My heart felt Congratulations to the Actors , Techs , Producers and the entire team ."

The first look of Allu Arjun's Pushpa was released on his 37th birthday, where saw the actor in a raw and rustic avatar. The film was officially launched last October in Hyderabad. It is set in the backdrop of red sanders smuggling in the Seshachalam forests. Allu Arjun will romance Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade actress Rashmika Mandanna in the film. It is directed by Sukumar, who previously collaborated with the star on Arya and Arya 2. DSP (Devi Sri Prasad) will compose the music of the film.
In a past interview with Filmfare, the actor revealed that he would like to be like Amitabh Bachchan when he turns 70. He said, "Stardom is difficult to achieve. It's an individual journey. I draw inspiration from Mr. Amitabh Bachchan. At 70-plus, I'd like to be like him. It would be great to wake up each morning and have work to look forward to. It would be fun to work with young people even at that age. It's a rare privilege for any actor."
