It was earlier reported that Varun Dhawan, Anil Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor and others from the cast of Jug Jugg Jeeyo had contracted the coronavirus. The shoot of the film had been halted after the same. Anil Kapoor had taken to his social media handle and denied the reports of him testing positive for the novel virus. And now, days after the reports surfaced, Varun Dhawan took to his social media handle and revealed that he has indeed tested positive for the virus. The Main Tera Hero actor shared a snapshot of his virtual conversation with his friends.
Varun penned an emotional note on the same and thanked his fans and well-wishers for their messages and support, saying, "VITAMIN FRIENDS. So as I returned to work in the pandemic era I have contracted covid-19. All precautions were taken by the production but still nothing is certain in life especially not covid-19. So please be extra careful I believe I could have been more careful. I see the get well soon messages and my spirits are high taking each day at a time. thank u." Have a dekko at his post below:
As per the Mumbai Mirror report, a source close to the crew said, "All three are showing only mild symptoms and are currently isolated in Chandigarh. Anil and Kiara's reports are negative; he returned to Mumbai last evening, while she flies back today." The source informed, "Varun, Neetu and Raj will take a repeat test and once everyone tests negative and recovers, the shoot will resume, hopefully, by mid-December."
Meanwhile, Varun's next release, Coolie No. 1 is on Christmas eve with Sara Ali Khan. It will be released on the OTT platform due to the pandemic concerns. The trailer was dropped in the last week of November and received a mixed response from the audience.
