Saath Nibhana Saathiya 2 has been in the news since the show was announced. The Devoleena Bhattacharjee starrer will go on-air from October 19. The show will be replacing Shaheer Sheikh and Rhea Sharma starrer Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke. Rupal Patel plays Meenakshi Rajvansh in Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke and now will be returning as Kokilaben in Saath Nibhaana Saathiya 2. The promo of the show was released earlier and we saw Devoleena Bhattacharjee aka Gopi Bahu entering in beautiful pink saree. She greets the audience with 'Jai Shree Krishna'. She introduces a new character Gehna by cracking the same cooker and rasoda joke. She also describes Gehna a bit and says that Gehna gives her sweet surprises and sometimes even shock. The promo had raised the excitement level amongst fans and now a picture from the sets of the show has gone viral.
As per reports in Pinkvilla, Devoleena Bhattacharjee, Rupal Patel and the other cast of the show shot for the first puja scene on September 22. A source close to Pinkvilla said, "Devoleena Bhattacharjee aka Gopi and Rupal Patel aka Kokila along with the cast gave their first shot for the show on September 22. They shot for a puja scene on the first day." The first picture from the sets of the show has set the internet on fire. In the picture, we see Gopi bahu, Kokilaben, Rashi's mother Urmila, Mota bhabhi and Kokilaben's husband in the picture doing puja. Sneha Jain will be paying Gehna in the show and will be paired opposite Harsh Nagar.
Earlier, in an interview with Pinkvilla, Devoleena spoke about reprising her character after participating in Bigg Boss 13. She said that she wasn't apprehensive about playing Gopi. "It is like continuing your own brand just like superstars Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar do in their films respectively. It is more about entertaining the fans. As an actor, I'm always up for it," said Devoleena. On the show's return, she said, "I was glad. Gopi was iconic and will always remain iconic. And yes, playing your iconic role after a break and that too on demand is called opportunity."
