Actor Joe Lara who essayed the role of Tarzan in the movie Tarzan in Manhattan and television show Tarzan: The Epic Adventures is said to be dead. Reportedly, he was on board the plane that crashed near the US city of Nashville. The business jet took off from Smyrna, Tennessee airport for Palm Beach, Florida but crashed shortly after taking off, say the reports. The plane went down in Percy Priest Lake In total, seven members were said to be on the plane and the investigation is on to recover anything from the debris spread across the lake. The news of the plane crash was confirmed by Rutherford County Fire & Rescue (RCFR) on Facebook.
Reportedly, the operation has switched from rescue to search. In a press conference, RCFR incident commander Captain Joshua Sanders reportedly said, "We are no longer in an attempt to (look) for live victims at this point so we're now recovering as much as we can from the crash site." The names of the victims of the plane crash were released by the County after informing their families. The names include Brandon Hannah, Gwen S. Lara, William J. Lara, David L. Martin, Jennifer J. Martin, Jessica Walters and Jonathan Walters, all of Brentwood, Tennessee. On Sunday, RCFR stated that it has recovered "several components of the aircraft as well as human remains" on Facebook.
Joe Lara whose actual name was William Joseph Lara married Gwen Shamblin Lara in 2018. They founded the a Christian weight-loss group called Weigh Down Ministries. They are said to be survived by two children from their previous marriage.
Apart from his stint as Tarzan, Joe Lara had also been a part of films like American Cyborg: Steel Warrior, Steel Frontier, Hologram Man, and many more. He had also appeared in one episode of Baywatch in 1993.
