Odiyan filmmaker Shrikumar Menon arrested for alleged cheating

Here is some news from the Malayalam film industry. Filmmaker Shrikumar Menon has been arrested in a cheating case. This news was confirmed by the Kerala Police. It seems cops from the Alappuzha police station reached his home in Palakkad, and took him into custody. The charge against him was that he had taken a sum of Rs one crore from a businessman in Alappuzha but did not make the promised film. This is not the first time he has courted legal trouble. In 2019, he got bail after leading Malayalam actress Manju Warrier filed a defamation case against him. Shrikumar Menon had directed Manju Warrier in the Mohanlal film, Odiyan as well as other projects.

Manju Warrier had said that she was subjected to trolling after the failure of Odiyan. She had written in her complaint, "I was subjected to a social media cyber attack after the release of Odiyan. Although I have overcome this, Menon is again creating trouble for me. I am afraid that he might harm me." It seems Shrikumar Menon said that Odiyan failed at the box office due to Manju Warrier as her husband, Dileep tried to sabotage the movie. He said that Manju was ungrateful.

.Shrikumar Menon wrote on Facebook, "When you left from your house, you were worried that you just had Rs 1500 in your bank account. When I handed over a cheque in Coimbatore for RS 25 lakh as as advance for your first ad film with me, I remember you saying that god had sent an angel in the form of Shrikumar Menon to help me. You have forgotten that."

This is not all. In the year, 2018 he had a tussle with MT Vasudevan Nair over a script. Let us see what happens further in the case. This year, quite a few South personalities have been in news for brush with law.
