Director Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra, which features the ensemble cast of Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy, Nagarjuna Akkineni and Dimple Kapadia with a cameo from Shah Rukh Khan, has faced multiple delays at the box office due to various reasons. While fans are waiting to witness this fantasy-action venture on the silver screen, the latest reports suggest that the makers are planning to release the film in Summer 2022. The director is planning to shoot the remaining portions in October or November depending upon the situation of COVID-19 at that time.
The post-production work of the scenes, which are already shot has been going on in full-swing. Mouni Roy, who plays the lead antagonist in the film, recently spoke about the delay in film and told BollywoodLife, "We have all waited for a very long time and it is just few more days, months I guess. It's a film that will be best enjoyed as a theatre release so I sure that Ayan Mukerji and Karan sir and the entire team is waiting for the right time to kind of release it. But the good news is that Roohi has released and there are a few more films that are releasing so I am hopeful. I am as eager as everyone else. I am waiting for the release date." Mouni Roy also spoke about her character from the film. She said, "I am an outright evil person in the film."
Sharing her experience of working with the huge cast, she added, "Oh My God! It was just a beautiful experience. I feel very grateful in fact to be sharing some screen space with them. Both of them are fire on-screen and loving human beings so I consider myself to be very lucky to be a part of the film. Amitabh Bachchan sir, Nagarjuna sir and Shah Rukh Khan sir are a part of the film so it can't get bigger than the cast that Brahmastra has."
