Splitsvilla has been around for over a decade and despite never been taken in the same breath as say a Bigg Boss or its own MTV counterpart, Roadies, the reality show is popular enough, with a loyal enough fan-base to keep returning for new seasons. In fact, hosts Rannvijay and Sunny Leone recently shot for the next season of MTV Splitsvilla in Kerala amidst lockdown albeit with all safety measure intact. So, we were eager to know what's in store for the new season and got the perfect opportunity to find out some juicy details during an exclusive interview with Rannvijay.
Opening up on the upcoming season of Splitsvilla, Rannvijay said, "Splitsvilla 13 will have two different villas for the first time there's a gold villa and silver villa; that's new, that's never happened before. Also, there's something called Wildvilla (a different show, but connected to SPlitsvilla), which Nikkhil Chinapa is hosting now, that is a villa where if you get dumped or people who are wild card entries go to. Earlier, people used to enter as wild cards and other contestants would crib that they've put in so much effort and wild cards suddenly come. But now, even to come back to Splitsvilla or to go into Splitsvilla (as a wild card), you see their journey (in Wildvilla) that's something new that's never happened before."
Effusing praise on his co-host, Sunny Leone, he added, "Sunny is easygoing, very involved and the best part is she was there with her three kids (during the shoot of the upcoming season). We used to shoot till 3-4 am and yet, she'd wake up with her kids at 7 am, do all the things that a mother does feed them, put them to bed, get them ready for school online (the shoot happened during the coronavirus pandemic), play with them, change them and then, she'd shoot with us. So, she's a superwoman and that's why multitasking is something crazy that women can do. You or I can't even...(think about it). The level at which women multitask, it's crazy, and with Sunny also I saw that, it's amazing, and she works out. She shoots, she's taking care of her kids, she works out and she does everything else in-between what she needs to do...that's crazy, man."
Besides Splitsvilla 13, Voot Select has launched the newest edition of their gripping mystery web series, Sumer Singh Case Files, with the all-new show, Girlfriends, which delves into a whirlpool of romance, crime and mystery, set in the backdrop of the dark side of the digital world. The star cast is headlined by Splitsvilla host Rannvijay Singha, who reprises his role as ACP Sumer Singh. Keeping him company as the beautiful 'Girlfriends' are Karishma Sharma, Priyanka Purohit, Aditi Arya and Elisha Mayor.
