Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathan and Ranbir Kapoor’s Brahmastra’s shoot gets halted — here’s why

The second wave of COVID-19 has affected the entertainment industry to a major extent. While we saw the delay of many biggies due to this pandemic crisis, it has also led to the postponement of shooting of many films including Ranbir Kapoor's Brahmastra and Shah Rukh Khan's Pathan. With the new restrictions imposed by the Maharashtra government, FWICE general secretary Ashok Dubey revealed that set construction of both these film have been kept on hold.

He told TOI, "There were three big sets that were under construction including Pathan which was being built on the helipad of Film city that involved the shooting of John Abraham and Shah Rukh Khan. Then there was the Brahmastra set and Vikram Motwane's Andolan Pictures' set that was also under construction. Each set had about 250 members from the setting department working every day and the work was supposed to go on for a month but this new lockdown will hit their livelihood."

Talking about Shah Rukh Khan's Pathan, it also features John Abraham and Deepika Padukone in pivotal roles. The film is directed by Siddharth Anand and will hit the screens in 2022. It is produced under the banner of Yash Raj Films. Speaking about Rambir Kapoor's Brahmastra, the film also stars Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Dimple Kapadia and Nagarjuna Akkineni, with a special cameo by Shah Rukh Khan. Made on a lavish budget, the film is the first part in a trilogy, and we are expecting to see the lead actor, Ranbir Kapoor, with some mind-boggling superpowers. Mouni Roy is playing the lead antagonist in Brahmastra. It will be a treat for her fans to watch the actress in an out-and-out negative avatar. The crackling chemistry between Ranbir and Alia is also expected to be one of the highlights in the film.
