A couple of days after Pawan Kalyan was tested positive for COVID-19, it was being reported that Ram Charan and Chiranjeevi have allegedly halted the shoot of their upcoming film Acharya. It was being said that Ram Charan and Chiranjeevi had been monitoring Pawan Kalyan's health. Actor Sonu Sood, who plays an important role in the film, has also tested COVID-19 positive. And since the release date of Acharya is nearing, fans were concerned whether the film will again get postponed. However, the film's unit has rubbished the reports.
"The release date of the film is nearing, there's only one month to go. So shooting is going on at a brisk pace. And while Ram Charan and Chiranjeevi are monitoring Pawan Kalyan's health, they have not stopped the shoot," Acharya's unit told Hyderabad Times.
A week ago, a poster of Acharya was unveiled on the occasion of Udagi wherein Ram Charan was striking a romantic dance pose with Pooja Hegde. In the film, Ram Charan plays Siddha, a Naxalite, and Pooja plays his lady love, Neelambari. Ram Charan and Pooja worked together in the song Jigel Rani from the film Rangasthalam.
Acharya also stars Kajal Aggarwal, as Chiranjeevi's love interest in the film. It is directed by Koratala Siva. The action film also features Sonu Sood, Jisshu Sengupta, Saurav Lokesh, Kishore, Tanikella Bharani, Ajay, Sangeetha Krish and Regina Cassandra.
Meanwhile, after testing COVID-19 positive, Sonu had taken to social media to share the news with fans asking them not to worry. "Hi Everyone, this is to inform you that I have tested positive this morning for COVID-19. As a part of precautions, I have already quarantined myself & taking utmost care. But don't worry this gives me ample time to solve your problems. Remember I'm always there for you all. -- Sonu Sood," he had written.
Sonu was recently appointed brand ambassador of Punjab's Covid vaccination programme by Chief Minister Amarinder Singh. He has been actively helping people cope with the Covid crises. Last year, he helped thousands of migrants reach houses during lockdown and also provided e-rickshaws to the unemployed.
