Kaappaan director KV Anand passes away due to cardiac arrest; Mohanlal, Allu Arjun and others grieve his demise — view tweets

In yet another tragic turn of events, Tamil filmmaker and cinematographer KV Anand passed away. He suffered from a cardiac arrest in the middle of the night. It is being reported that he got a heart attack at 3:00 AM today. He was just 54. For the unversed, KV Anand worked as a freelance photojournalist for various publications in his initial days. Later he met cinematographer P. C. Sreeram and expressed his desire to assist him. Thus began his journey in the entertainment industry as a cinematographer. Several celebrities including Mohanlal, Allu Arjun and others have mourned the demise of the Kaappaan director.

Drishyam 2 actor Mohanlal condoled his passing, saying, "Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts. K.V. Anand sir you will be missed forever. Prayers for the departed soul. Pranams." Here's his tweet:

Pushpa actor Allu Arjun tweeted out saying, "Just woke up to this sad news that Dir KV Anand garu is no more. Wonderful cameraman , brilliant director and very nice gentleman . Sir you will always be remember & missed . Condolences to the near , dear & family . Rest in Peace Sir . #KVAnand."

Petta actor Rajinikanth also tweeted out saying, "The demise of the venerable KV Anand is shocking and painful. My deepest condolences to his family for leaving him. May his soul attain peace."

Bhool Bhulaiyya helmer Priyadarshan also tweeted out, saying, "Shocked and Saddened to hear the loss of dear K V Anand. Heartfelt condolences #KVAnand."

Amyra Dastur also condoled his demise saying, "#kvanand Sir, you were one of the most passionate & disciplined filmmaker's I had the honour to work with. You launched me into Tamil Cinema & for that I will always be forever grateful. Thank you for everything sir. Cinema will not be the same without you. Rest in Peace sir."

KV Anand worked in films such as Minnaram, Chandralekha, Mudhalvan, Josh, Nayak, Boys, Khakee and Sivaji to name a few. He made his directorial debut with Kana Kandaen which starred Prithviraj Sukumaran, Gopika and Srikanth in the lead.
