In the past few years, we have been hearing the term in the entertainment industry, which is 'Pan-India star' thanks to the popularity of stars like Prabhas and Yash through their massive hits - Baahubali franchise and KGF. While many south stars have impressed the Indian audiences, there are also actors who didn't have a great Bollywood debut though it didn't affect their popularity in south. Here's the list of them...
Thala Ajith
The megastar of Kollywood, who has delivered blockbusters like Viswasam, Vedalam, Nerkonda Paarvai and many others, made his Bollywood debut in Shah Rukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor starrer Asoka. Directed by Santosh Sivan, the film was one of the expensive ventures of that time but unfortunately failed to impress the audience.
Chiranjeevi's son Ram Charan, who is currently doing Pan-India films like RRR and Shankar's next, stepped into B-Town in 2013 with Zanjeer, which was a remake of Amitabh Bachchan's 1973 blockbuster of the same name. Unfortunately, the remake failed to create any magic at the box office and post that we didn't see Ram Charan in any Hindi film.
The handsome hunk of south, who is known for films like O Kadhal Kanmani, Bangalore Days, Charlie and others, entered Bollywood with Karwaan in 2018, which also featured Irrfan Khan and Mithila Palkar in pivotal roles. While the film received critical acclaim, it didn't fetch good numbers at the box office.
Shraddha Srinath
The talented Jersey actress made her B-Town debut with Tigmanshu Dhulia's Milan Talkies opposite Ali Fazal. Released in 2019, the film also featured Ashutosh Rana, Sanjay Mishra, Reecha Sinha and Sikandar Kher in noted roles. The film didn't get any footfalls in the cinema halls and was a forgettable affair.
Megha Akash
Chal Mohan Ranga and Petta star made her first Bollywood appearance in Sooraj Pancholi's Satellite Shankar, which unfortunately turned out to be a disaster at the box office.
