Rajkummar Rao, Varun Sharma and Janhvi Kapoor starrer Roohi, which was the first big Bollywood release after the pandemic crisis of COVID-19, has managed to put up a decent total in its extended first weekend of 4 days. The horror-comedy raked in 3.85 crore yesterday and currently stands with the grand total of Rs 12.58 crore. It will be interesting to see how the film performs in the weekdays as there are three releases in the coming Friday, which are Mumbai Saga, Flight and Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar.
Talking about the film and the current scenario of COVID-19, Janhvi Kapoor told BollywoodLife, "I think it's not easy for anyone, I don't think it's just because of my family background or anything. This is my first theatrical (release) since Dhadak. But, I think that I don't know if you could call it an accurate litmus test as the situation under which this film is releasing, it's not like everything in the world is (normal)...Having said that, I'm hopeful and I hope people like the work that I've done. Now, I can't predict anything, I've done what was in my hand, and put in all the hard work and effort and I'm hoping that's enough."
Varun Sharma also opened up on the overwhelming response received by film and told us, "I am deeply overwhelmed by all the love and congratulatory messages that are my coming my way. This is my biggest reward. Roohi was a film that I thoroughly enjoyed doing. Even the workshops were so much fun and enriching. As ac actor, you keep looking for opportunities that help you grow and unravel things about yourself. Roohi did that for me. I'm going to treasure my experiences of working on the film."
