Throwback Thursday: Did you know birthday boy Sajid Nadiadwala had almost married his Jeet heroine?

Today is maverick producer Sajid Nadiadwala's birthday. The 54-year-old filmmaker, unlike many other Bollywood producers, has always been a dashing, debonair charmer and a huge hit with the ladies, especially within the industry. A few months before producing his first movie, Zulm Ki Hukumat, starring Dharmendra and Govinda, back in 1992, at just the age of 26, he had already tied the knot with the most sought after actress on the block after Sridevi at the time, Divya Bharti. Any Bollywood movie-buff worth her/his salt knows how that chapter in his life had unfortunately ended in tragedy, and it being Saijid Nadiadwala's special day and all, we wouldn't want to bring up unpleasant memories. So, how about some juicy trivia instead that's only spoken in hushed tones these days, and that, too, among the old schoolers of the industry.

Did you know that after being shattered by Divya Bharti's untimely demise merely a year after getting married, Sajid Nadiadwala found solace and comfort in the heart of another top heroine from the industry. Reports back in the day suggest that being unable to cope with the loss of his first wife, Sajid was desperate for any form of human connection, and luckily, found it in the arms and heart of none other than one of Divya's best friends in the industry, the equally gorgeous Tabu. Moreover, they soon started working together in the former's home production, Jeet, and the friendship allegedly blossomed into love.

Reports further state that they had even contemplated marriage and Sajid had placed his cards on the table, ensuring Tabu would know that she'd always be the second woman in his life after Divya, and being how close she was to the latter, Tabu, apparently, had made peace with this fact. Then, all of a sudden, industry insiders revealed that she lost interest in the relationship. So, what had happened. Well, new reports swirled in that Tabu was suddenly bowled over by Tollywood superstar Nagarjuna, who was already married for a second time, after their Telugu film together, and as we're well aware of, she had even taken a hiatus from Bollywood at the peak of her career to shift base to Hyderabad, where she did a couple of more films with King Nag.

However, speculations soon started doing the rounds that it was all in vain as Nagarjuna went back to his wife, Amala Akkineni, and the couple continue to live happily together to this day. By the time Tabu returned to Bollywood, Sajid Nadiadwala's ship had already sailed with Warda Nadiadwala, and their marriage has been going strong for more than twenty years.
