The Six Suspects: Richa Chadha to star opposite Scam 1992's Pratik Gandhi in the Tigmanshu Dhulia-directed web series

After two back-to-back releases in the theatre with Shakeela and Madam Chief Minister, Richa Chadha is all set to return to the OTT platform with an exciting new show, marking her fourth venture on a streaming service post Inside Edge and the standup comedy act, One Mic Stand, not to mention her cameo early on in Anil Kapoor's stupendous desi adaptation of 24. And her new web series looks to be a biggie as Richa Chadha is all set to star in The Six Suspects opposite Pratik Gandhi who walked away with the most accolades online last year probably for any actor, owing to being a part of hugely appreciated show like Scam 1992, and in no small part down to his stellar performance in it.

The Six Suspects, which will be adapted from the novel of the same name, will be directed by National Award winner Tigmanshu Dhulia of Paan Singh Tomar, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster, and Haasil fame. The shoot is expected to begin in March this year and it should be out by the end of the year. There's no word yet on the rest of the cast, but going by what we've already seen and the names that are associated with the project, we could say for now that is certainly looking like a very promising web series.

Earlier, Richa Chadha opened up about the backlash and controversies Madam Chief Minister generated in an interview with News 18, where she had said, "I did not see the same outrage or criticism when my colleagues play someone from an underprivileged background or a certain community. Why am I being set to a higher standard? Who are these people trying to police an individual's choice about what you can wear or cannot? You can't wear an Ambedkar T-shirt but people can happily carry his posters during protests and at that time it is not termed as appropriation. This film is a learning process for me and it is an ongoing one. By shaming me, it isn't like I can learn any faster."

Well, fingers crossed that The Six Suspects turns out to be as good as it's looking on paper.
