Bollywood multi-starrers have always been fascinating for the audience who are ready to pay hefty ticket prices to watch them on the big screen. There's no denying the fact that there has been a dearth of multi-starrers in the industry for the past few years. Some say that the reason behind less multi-starrers being made is the insecurity of the younger crop of actors who often worry about their roles being less important than the other cast members. It takes the likes of big filmmakers like Karan Johar and Sanjay Leela Bhansali to maintain the balance between the actors and their onscreen characters.
While the year 2020 has been quite the dud for the industry, thanks to the coronavirus outbreak in the country, the upcoming year seems to be promising as far as the entertainment quotient is concerned. With movies like Sooryanvanshi, Brahmastra, '83, Laal Singh Chaddha, Apne 2 and War 2 ready for release between 2021 and 2022, the audience is surely going to enjoy the presence of terrific star trios who have already created a lot of buzz in the industry.
Brahmastra (Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan)
Ayan Mukerji's directorial, Brahmastra, a fantasy-adventure trilogy, will see Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan sharing the screen space for the first time on celluloid. Karan Johar is producing the film under his Dharma Productions banner.
Sooryavanshi (Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh)
In Rohit Shetty's Sooryavanshi, Akshay Kumar will be seen as ATS officer Veer Sooryavanshi on a lookout for terrorists planning a deadly strike on Mumbai. Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh will also reprise their roles as Singham and Simmba in cameos, to help Akshay bust the terror plot.
'83 (Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Pankaj Tripathi)
Directed by Kabir Khan, '83 narrates the story of India's first-ever cricket World Cup victory in 1983. In the movie, Ranveer Singh stars as the underdog team's captain, Kapil Dev, while Deepika Padukone plays Kapil's wife Romi Dev. The film also features Pankaj Tripathi in a key role as the coach.
Laal Singh Chaddha (Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan)
For the first time in the history of Bollywood, the three khans, Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, will be seen sharing space in Laal Singh Chaddha, which is an official remake of 1994 Hollywood flick Forrest Gump starring Tom Hanks. If the reports are to be believed, Shah Rukh and Salman will reprise their roles of Raj and Prem. The two superstars will be making cameos in the upcoming film. War 2 (Hrithik Roshan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan)
After the humongous success of Siddharth Anand's action flick War starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff in the lead, rumours have been doing the rounds that the makers are planning for the sequel, tentatively titled, War 2. And to take the action a notch higher, it is being said that Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan will reportedly be seen doing cameos as Pathan and Tiger in the film. If the reports turn out to be true, it will be the first time that Hrithik, Salman and Shah Rukh will share screen space together in a film.
Atrangi Re (Akshay Kumar, Dhanush, Sara Ali Khan)
Akshay Kumar, Sara Ali Khan and Dhanush are all set to share screen space in their upcoming film, Atrangi Re. The movie, which is being directed by Aanand L. Rai and written by Himanshu Sharma, is billed as a cross-cultural love story. Reportedly, Sara plays a girl from Bihar, and she has romantic tracks with Akshay as well as Dhanush in the film.
Shakun Batra's next (Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday)
Deepika Padukone is currently busy shooting for Shakun Batra's untitled film alongside Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday. Details of the project, touted to be a thriller, are under wraps.

Directed by Karan Malhotra, the Yash Raj Films-produced period drama, Shamshera a throwback to dacoit movies of yore will star Ranbir Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor alongside each other. Details of the project are under wraps.
Apne 2 (Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol)
The Deol family announced their new film, Apne 2, on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti. The film brings together three generations of the family, Dharmendra, his sons Sunny and Bobby Deol, and grandson Karan Deol. Directed by Anil Sharma and produced by Deepak Mukut, the film is expected to go on floors in March 2021 and release around Diwali next year.
