The deadly combo of Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal, who entertained the audience with their bang on comic timing and performances in films like Hera Pheri, Phir Hera Pheri, Garam Masala, Welcome, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Oh My God, De Dana Dan, Awara Paagal Deewana, Deewane Huye Paagal and many more, are set to reunite again for Oh My God 2. Yes, as per the PinkVilla the duo will reunite for the sequel of 2012's social comdey and the film will go on floors in summer 2021.
A source close to the development revealed the news to the portal and said, "Akshay, Paresh, Ashwin and the entire gang have been keen to make Oh My God 2 for the longest time and have been brain storming on different ideas to come up with a story that's better than the first part. And after several years of research and brainstorming, they have finally locked a script that does justice to the legacy of first part." The source added, "Even as he was shooting for Atrangi Re, he was in constant touch with Ashwin over the script of Oh My God and in-fact the two even met on the set in Delhi to discuss on the pre-production process, other members of the cast and the way forward. The script is locked, and the film is ready to go on the floors as early as summer 2021." Well, this news will definitely cheer up all Akki and Paresh Rawal fans.
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar was last seen in Laxmii, where he portrayed the character of a transgender. He received tremendous response and even transgender activist Laxmi Narayan Tripathi lauded him. Speaking about it, Akki said, "Her words of appreciation mattered to me. She lauded me for playing the character. There were 100 transgender women. They all stood up and clapped at the end of the film. The ostracisation of the community has been horrific, and it's time we collectively stood up and promoted equality."
