Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah: Ghanshyam Nayak aka Nattu Kaka RETURNS to shoot after 9 months

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actor Ghanshyam Nayak aka Nattu Kaka had been through surgery recently. Now, the actor has returned to the sets after nine months. Earlier, it was because of the lockdown he wasn't on sets, and later it was his surgery. Ghanshyam Nayak aka Nattu Kaka spoke about his return in an interview with ETimes. He said, "My health is absolutely fine. I have started shooting for Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. I had shot for the show last on 16th March and now I started shooting for it from December 16th exact post 9 months. Yes, my track has been brought back and the episode will be aired in a day or two. When the shooting began after the lockdown there was a law that restricted older actors beyond the age of 60 to shoot. Then I had to undergo a major surgery. The operation was successful and now health is good."

He also shared about the first scene he shot for Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah after his return. He wrote, "I have shot with Jethalal and Bagga a phone cut scene. It went quite well and everyone was very happy. I was also very excited as I got to shoot for it after 9 months. I feel extremely happy and fresh and I am looking forward to more scenes of mine." He praised the production for taking care of the actors. He said, "On the sets of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actors are looked after quite well. All the protocols are followed and safety measures are taken properly. The Production house of Asit Modiji looks after all of us very well. We have been given a pick up and drop facility from the production house. This is the 13th year of our show and the stow is still doing well. I feel one of the reasons behind the success of our producer Asit Modiji is because he is a good person. There has been nobody on the sets whose payment has been delayed or not been on time. He has made sure that all the artists are paid on time."

Ghanshyam Nayak also shared how he missed watching himself on-screen and that he followed the show regularly. He said, "I used to watch each and every episode and was waiting to go back to the sets. My character is the most senior in the show and everyone gives me that respect on the sets. They were also waiting to see me back on the sets, even many of the fans who watch the show regularly were waiting for my character's comeback. I have got so much love from everyone on the sets and they would miss me. Jethalal (Dilip Joshi), Bagga (Tanmay) they would always say that Nattu Kaka ke bagair mazaa nahi aata... I am happy that with God's grace I am back on the show."

He also revealed how Dilip Joshi aka Jethalal reacted to his return. He said, "Dilip Joshi ji was so happy seeing me on the sets. He told me you were the life of the show and I am glad you are back. The entire unit is very happy and I also love them very much. During this break wherever I went to a temple or a shop, fans of the show would request me to return to the show. I am happy that it has happened." Nattu kaka said that he will continue acting till the last breathe. He said, "I am glad that the law which did not allow senior citizen actors to work has been dismissed. I feel every actor should get the opportunity to work. My last wish is to work till the last breath of my life for Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. I want to take my last breath on Taarak Mehta sets with makeup on. This is my last wish."
