Aashiqui fame Rahul Roy was admitted to the hospital after he suffered brain stroke while shooting for a project in Kargil. He was airlifted from Kargil and was taken to Srinagar and brought back to Mumbai where he was hospitalised at the Nanavati Hospital. He was in the ICU and was responding slowly to the treatment. His brother-in-law Romeer Sen has now revealed that Rahul is now out of danger and has been shifted from the ICU to a hospital room.
"Rahul is now out of danger," Romeer told TOI. He also informed that the doctors have begun the actor's speech and physical therapy. Though he has been responding well to the treatment, Rahul will be under doctors' observation for a few more days.
The actor has been diagnosed with Aphasia, a condition in which the person has difficulties in framing sentences. His right side of the body has been affected after he suffered a brain stroke. The right hemisphere of his face and right arm have gone weak. The recovery seems slow at this moment and might require several physiotherapy sessions at a later stage.
Rahul was shooting in Kargil for a project when he suffered the brain stroke. He was shooting for film LAC: Live The Battle at Kargil. The film is being directed by Nitin Kumar Gupta. It is being believed that the extreme weather conditions caused the stroke.
Rahul shot to fame with the Mahesh Bhatt-directed Aashiqui at the age of 22. He went on to work with the filmmaker on 1990s films like Junoon and Phir Teri Kahani Yaad Aayee. After laying low for some time, the actor joined the first season of the popular TV reality show Bigg Boss in 2006, and emerged as the winner.
