Manoj Bajpayee is on cloud nine. His film Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari has got a good response from the audience (despite the restrictions at cinema halls) and critics. He plays the role of an eccentric detective, Madhu Mangal Rane, and people loved his performance. Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari was also the first film to release in theatres after the pandemic. The two-time National Award winner is thrilled with the response to the movie. "I am very happy seeing the audience's response to the movie. It is very heartening for me and the industry as a whole. I hope things get better from now on," he said. There has been a wave of negativity against the industry ever since the tragic death of Sushant Singh Rajput. Does he feel that this social media negativity is impacting the industry? "No, I don't think so. The response to Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari is proof of that. People want to watch movies in the theatres, and I am upbeat that things will get better," he added.
Manoj Bajpayee's chemistry with Diljit Dosanjh was also well appreciated. "Diljit is a wonderful co-star. He is a very simple person and his sense of humour is terrific," he said. The veteran is having the time of his life with some fantastic projects in his kitty. He has signed Dial 100 with Neena Gupta and Sakshi Tanwar. It seems his association with them goes back a long way. "I feel very honoured to share screen space with them. They are fantastic artistes. I know Neena Gupta from my younger days in theatre. In fact, I have even directed Sakshi Tanwar in a project when she was young. So, I know both of them for a while now," he stated.
Manoj Bajpayee is also elated as The Family Man has won four awards at the Asian Academy Creative Awards. "I am elated for the whole team. It feels wonderful to see Indian content shining like this at international platforms. The Family Man is a very special project for me," he said and signed off.
