‘Kapil Sharma runs for 30 mins at the speed of 16 kph,' reveals his fitness trainer Yogesh Bhateja [Exclusive]

Kapil Sharma is one helluva comedian but did you know he is a fitness enthusiast as well? The comedian-turned actor and singer (yes, though not professionally) is aggressively chasing his goals when it comes to fitness. Kapil is a big-time foodie but his eating habits have not come in his way to achieve fitness, though his woes concerning his weight have. So, BollywoodLife.com got in touch with Kapil Sharma's trainer, Yogesh Bhateja who has also trained Sonu Sood, Neetu Kapoor, Tamannaah and more to know about Kapil's diet and training sessions.

We asked Yogesh whether Kapil ever asked him a question or presented him with his doubts concerning weight loss. The physical trainer affirmed saying, "Kapil did complain about wanting to lose weight. However, when working out, one is bound to gain muscle weight and being a Punjabi he has got so good genetics that he gains muscles very fast. After every 15-20 days, he'll be like, 'Yogesh weight is not going down,' and I have to explain to him that being an actor he has to lose those inches and then he is sorted."

Yogesh also opened up on Kapil Sharma's difficult phase after spinal injury. He said, "I have worked with him for more than five years. I trained him for both his films, Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon and Firangi. This time again we did a transformation. We started in May and at that time, he was very bulky as he was out of shape. He's become a leaner now." Divulging on his spinal injury, Yogesh said, "Kapil Sharma had had a spinal injury a couple of years ago due to which he was in a lot of pain. He was not able to even stand properly. So, I travelled with him back then and helped him strengthen his glutes. We had to work on his functionality in a safer manner. The point being, to make him efficient enough to perform exercises. After that, we started experimenting with weight or without weights. He also has a lot of his own body weight which I used as a weapon. And now he can do anything and everything. you name it (exercise) and he can do it easily. He runs for 30 mins straight at 16 kph."

Talking about Kapil's diet, Yogesh said, "He is given more of veggies when working on weight-loss as it is easily digested, it works on the internal inflammation and powers up the system in an easier manner. So, Kapil Sharma had a vegan diet with loads of veggies, fruits, eggs and juices."
