Popular TV actress Shubhangi Atre, who garnered love from the audience for her portrayal of Angoori Bhabhi in Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain, said that she doesn't wants to get into stereotypical roles and wants to explore herself as an actor. Speaking to E Times, she said, "I don't want to bind myself in a stereotype. I want to explore myself further as an actor. There is so much good content being written and made now a days, whether on TV or OTT. Hopefully, 2021 will bring me more good work and I can surprise my audiences even further."
She added, "Right from 'Kasturi', 'Havan' where I played a negative lead, to 'Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hai', including one film with Anurag Basu, titled, 'Tagore Stories', every role has been a learning experience. I have had no training in acting and learnt everything in front of the camera. So, I am grateful to god for all this success and recognition. I feel, my primary responsibility is to entertain people and I hope to be successful at that. I am very filmy and since my childhood I was a film buff, watched every film and imagined myself in it. I would not have been able to chose any other profession had I not been an actor."
Calling Amitabh Bachchan and Sharmila Tagore as icons, Shubhangi asserted, "Amit ji and Sharmila Tagore are actors par excellence. The kind of films Sharmila ji did in those days, it was ahead of her times. I aspire to be like her." Sharing her thoughts on the success of the show, she said, "Acting is like team work. Some actors concentrate only on their own performance, which is wrong. Unless there is comfort and friendship among the actors of a show or film, they can't find success for the whole venture. It is important for everyone to contribute in making a film or a TV show."
