Bhumi Pednekar (Durgamati)
Bhumi Pednekar headlined the horror flick Durgamati: The Myth. She played IAS officer Chanchal Chauhan, who is framed by a corrupt person of authority. The plot is woven with an element of horror, as Chanchal is possessed from time to time by the spirit of Durgamati. Bhumi stepped into the shoes of Anushka Shetty who originally played the character in her 2018 Telugu film Bhaagamathie.
Tripti Dimri (Bulbbul)
Tripti Dimri's performance in Bulbbul has been widely acclaimed. The movie is a period horror flick that traverses the journey of a young girl named Bulbbul from innocence to strength, with the looming shadow of the legend of a chudail. Despite being set in the late 19th century, the film has a vein, which resonates with the present.
