While recently, we saw a news of Supreme Court granting a week parole to Rajiv Gandhi's assassing AG Perarivalan, actor-turned-politician, who formed his party in 2018 named, Makkal Needhi Maiam, has demanded the release of convicted by raising doubt on fair trials, says the Times Now report. Going back to 2013, we saw V. Thiagarajan, a former superintendent of police in the CBI confessing that he had altered Perarivalan's confession as he told The Hindu, "Arivu told me that he did not know why they asked him to buy that [the battery]. But I did not record that in the confessional statement. Then the investigation was in progress, so that particular statement I did not record. Strictly speaking, law expects you to record a statement verbatim we don't do that in practice."
Meanwhile Kamal Haasan is gearing up for Indian 2. Filmmaker Shankar revealed that actor Kamal Haasan, who returns to playing an aged vigilante in Indian 2, will be seen speaking in Gujarati in a few scenes. Produced by Lyca Productions, Indian 2 is a sequel to the 1996 release with the same title which featured Kamal Haasan in dual roles. the first look of Indian 2 was revealed few weeks ago which had Kamal Haasan reprising the older role from the original. The film was officially launched and the makers were looking to begin shooting soon. But the film hit a roadblock after Kamal Haasan got busy with his political assignments and failed to take off.
Indian 2 will have Kamal Haasan playing Senapathi and will be seen in a very old look. Siddharth will be seen playing his grandson in Indian 2 while Rakul Preet has been roped in to play his love interest. Kajal Aggarwal will be seen playing the leading lady opposite Kamal Haasan and the Mersal actress will be seen sporting prosthetic makeup in the film to look older.
