Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah: Tanuj Mahashabde aka Iyer opens up on playing Munmun Dutta's on-screen husband; says, 'I found it hard to digest that I am playing a partner of a beautiful lady'

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah completed 3000 episodes recently. It has been doing good on the TRP charts and is loved by the audience. The show has been going on for many years, but one can never get bored of watching it. Each and every character from the show has a separate fan base. Tanuj Mahashabde who plays Krishnan Iyer has spoken about his role in the show and also said that he could not digest the fact that he is playing Munmun Dutta's husband in the show. Munmun Dutta is known for her role as Babita ji and she is the most stylish lady of Gokuldham society. In an interview with Lokmat, Tanuj Mahashabde spoke about being shocked when he came to know about playing Munmun Dutta's partner.

Tanuj said, "Not just others, but even I found it hard to digest that I am playing a partner of a beautiful lady in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah." He plays the role of a South Indian in the show and he said that initially, everyone thought that he is a South Indian is real life and not a Maharashtrian. Recently in an interview with News18, Tanuj got emotional and said that everyone knows only Iyer and not Tanuj. He said, "Iyer is famous but Tanuj is not. I would like if Tanuj is also famous. I get identified as a comedian playing a comedy role. I understand that Iyer is a big character and hence famous but I believe that people should also know the person who is playing Iyer."

"I am very happy that I became an actor in TMKOC. However, I have not given up on writing, I am still writing scripts. But I have got my identity from TMKOC, previously I have done small shows, theatre but I did not get recognition, " he added.
