It is Friday and Vikrant Massey and Yami Gautam's romantic comedy, Ginny Weds Sunny, directed by Puneet Khanna, has been released online. The movie is being touted to be a breath of fresh air for viewers who have been feeding themselves with entertainment through news channels during lockdown. Subscribers can watch the not-so-typical marriage of Ginny and Sunny on streaming giant Netflix, and we hope Vikrant and Yami, along with other cast members of the film will entertain the audience with their performances. While the trailer has already managed to strike a chord with most people, let's touch upon some of the aspects that might intrigue you to watch the film and find it worth your valuable time and data package.
Unconventional Jodi
This will be the first time that Vikrant Massey and Yami Gautam will be seen sharing space on celluloid. While Vikrant has already been seen making a mark in the online space, Yami will be making her digital debut with this film. The two talented actors are known for being comfortable with any actor, be it newcomer or popular ones, on screen. Going by the trailer, their on and off chemistry looks promising and even their comic timing seems bang on.
Storyline
The storyline of Ginny Weds Sunny seems to bring a new flavour to rom-coms in Bollywood. Here's a cheesy guy named Sunny who is eagerly waiting to get married but is constantly getting rejected by women during his several arranged marriage meets. He then crosses path with his former crush named Ginny who is completely opposite to Sunny's character and looking for a love marriage. She is fun, full of life and an out and out Punjabi girl who doesn't fit into a mould. The not-so-eligible bachelor tries to win her love by asking for some help from her mother. And the series of situations that occur in their lives, might turn out to be a fun ride loaded with laughter.
Set in Delhi
The movie is set in Delhi and if you are a Delhiite, you will surely relive all the memories while watching more of the city from the malls and metros to some old-fashioned bungalows. The setting seems to be perfect for the wedding season and might make you feel light and happy.
Eclectic Music
Vikrant Massey says his film Ginny Weds Sunny has a song for every mood. "The entire music album of 'Ginny Weds Sunny' is so diverse. It has a song for every mood," he said. The compositions have been put together by Payal Dev, Gaurav Chatterji and Jaan Nissar Lone while lyrics are written by Kunaal Vermaa, Mohsin Shaikh, Payal Dev, Badshah, Sandeep Gaur and Peer Zahoor.
Comedy of Errors
The movie's humour lies in its cheesy pick-up lines and the series of events that are made ridiculous by the number of errors that follow. It might make you cringe but, will surely put a smile on your face.
