As the government has given the permissions to re-open the theatres, we saw many filmmakers checking the logistics to release their films. Talking about two biggies Ranveer Singh's '83 and Akshay Kumar's Sooryavanshi, Shibasish Sarkar, CEO, Reliance Entertainment, co-producer of these two movies said that the sports drama will hit the screens during Christmas while Rohit Shetty's masala entertainer will arrive in 2021. "We definitely don't want to change the date of 83 for Sooryavanshi. The sport drama is still slated to release on Christmas. We have to decide on the new date of Sooryavanshi with the director and actor, but the film should release between January and March," said Shibhasish.
Talking about Sooryavanshi, the film also features Katrina Kaif, Jaaved Jaaferi, Gulshan Grover, Kumud Mishra, Abhimanyu Singh, Vivan Bhatena and Sikander Khan, with special appearances from Ajay Devgn as Singham and Ranveer Singh as Simmba. The film was supposed to release on March 24 but has been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak. It's been bankrolled under the banners of Rohit Shetty Picturez, Dharma Productions and Cape Of Good Films.
On the other hand, '83, which showcases the journey of Indian cricket team's heroic win in the 1983 World Cup. It was scheduled to hit screens on April 10, has been pushed ahead due to the coronavirus pandemic. The film stars Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev, Saqib Saleem as Mohinder Amarnath, Tahir Raj Bhasin as Sunil Gavaskar and others in pivotal roles. Earlier when asked about the losses, which have incurred due to delay of these films, he said, "But these are big films and when they do release, we will earn enough revenue to recover the additional cost of holding back." He further assured, "Once normalcy returns, Sooryavanshi and '83 will be the first two films to arrive." Well, this news will certainly bring a huge smile on the faces of all cinema lover.
