Guns of North: Salman Khan steps out from Aayush Sharma's gangster drama?

After LoveYatri, Aayush Sharma announced his next in the form of Guns of North, which is the remake of Marathi gangster drama Mulshi Pattern. While the makers reworked on the script and made Salman Khan's character of Sikh cop a parallel lead, which was earlier an extended cameo, but during the final narration Salman Khan and team came to a conclusion that this change has removed the essence of the film and they decided to stay with the original script and Salman Khan stepped out as an actor.

A source close to the development told Mumbai Mirror, "But during the final narration last month, both Salman and his team acknowledged that reworking the script had taken away the essence of the Marathi film, which was a rustic gangster drama set in the heartland. And it was decided that he would drop out as an actor from the film and they would stick to the original script." While the film was earlier supposed to direct by Abhiraj Minawala of LoveYatri fame but now Mahesh Manjrekar has come on board to helm this project. Interestingly, Mahesh Manjrekar also played a key role in Mulshi Pattern.

"He has helmed Vaastav and City of Gold in the past and this film is in a similar space, making him the ideal choice. Mahesh will have multiple acting workshops with Aayush in October. The script is almost locked, the idea is to take it on floors by November," added the source. The film will be shot in real locations of North India. While Salman Khan fans must be disappointed by this decision we are sure after watching the film, they will understand his decision.
