Deepika Padukone allegedly blames manager for revealing private chats; Ranveer Singh joins actress' 12-memeber legal team

Recently, Deepika Padukone's name was dragged into the Sushant Singh Rajput death case after her WhatsApp chats were leaked, where she allegedly asks her manager for hash fo a party she held at high-end restaurant Koko in Lower Parel, Mumbai. This has led the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) to widen its net in Sushant's case, leading to a broader crackdown on the purported Bollywood drug nexus, in which Shraddha Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan and Rakul Preet Singh have also been summoned, with some other big names likely to be called in the coming days.

To get ahead of the mess she finds herself in, it has been reported by Republic TV that Deepika Padukone is in constant talks with a 12-member legal team in Delhi, and that her star-husband, Ranveer Singh, had also joined the video call with her lawyers to discuss her options. Sources have also revealed to the channel that Deepika is blaming both her manager Karishma Prakash and talent manager Jaya Saha for revealing their private chats. There's word also that the actress' legal team is exerting pressure on Karishma, who's been exempted from appearing before the NCB till Friday, 25th September, due to ill health, to not disclose anything more to the NCB when she finally goes in for her interrogation.

"Earlier, Padukone's manager, Karishma Prakash, was summoned to join the investigation, but she sought time due to ill health, and requested for an exemption from appearance till Friday. Sources have now informed Republic TV that Karishma is currently with Deepika in Goa," revealed the channel's report.

Deepika will soon be returning to Mumbai from Goa, where she was shooting for Shakun Batra's next film.
