Filmy Friday: When Vicky Kaushal realised he can't act after losing a role in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag

Vicky Kaushal is one of the finest actors we have in the industry right now. And we are not talking about the box office success of his films. He has proved his prowess in films like Masaan, Uri, Raazi and Sanju amongst others. But did you know there was a time when the actor felt he can't act?

In 2019, he was a guest at UPG's LitFest. Talking to the students present there, he spoke about his first-ever audition which was for the film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. He said, "It was not for the lead role but for his friend. It was edited out eventually. Harneet Trehan was the casting director and he is one of the sweetest fellows in the industry. He took out 3 hours for me. He called me to his office and we were trying to crack a scene. That day I realised I can't act." He went on to say that in 3 hours he could see it in their behaviour how much they really tried to make him act, but he just couldn't.

Well, we are just glad that Vicky didn't give up at that point and just persevered.

The actor will be seen in Sam Manekshaw biopic. On the birth anniversary of India's first Field Marshal, Vicky shared a video, in which the title was announced by none another than veteran lyricist and filmmaker Gulzar. The film is based on the life of Sam Manekshaw, who was also called Manekshaw, Mackintosh, Manekji. He was the chief of the Indian Army during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971.
